Primers are responsible for the quality and corrosion protection of the painted metal substrates. In the automotive industry, these properties are valued especially with a view to forming and jointing as well as welding.
Primers create a highly active substrate. In combination with the chrome-free pretreatment, they create excellent adhesion to the metal and also to the subsequent paint coat. With a coating thickness of just 2.5 – 5 µm, they are responsible for the quality and corrosion protection of the painted materials. As thin organic coatings suited for welding, primers offer a variety of ecological and economical benefits, especially in the automotive industry.
